Lasers Principles and Advantages

Laser Introduction

The English name of laser is LASER, which is the abbreviation for "light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation".

Laser Principle

When electrons in atoms absorb energy and transition from low to high energy levels, and then fall back from high to low energy levels, the released energy is released in the form of photons. A photon beam (laser) induced (excited), in which the optical properties of photons are highly consistent. Therefore, compared to ordinary light sources, lasers have better monochromaticity, directionality, and higher brightness.

Laser Advantages

1.Good monochromaticity: The wavelength distribution range of the light emitted by the laser is narrow, so the color is extremely pure. The monochromaticity of lasers is much stronger than other monochromatic light sources.

2.Strong directionality: The beam of light emitted by the laser only shoots in one direction. Most ordinary light sources scatter in all directions. If you want the light source to converge to a certain part, you need to install auxiliary devices, such as reflective mirrors installed on the front lights of cars that have a focusing effect, so that the light can converge and emit in one direction.

3.Good coherence: Coherence indicates the degree to which light is prone to interference with each other. If light is considered as a wave, the closer the bands, the higher the coherence. For example, when different waves collide with each other on the water surface, they may reinforce or cancel each other out. Similar to this phenomenon, the more random the wave, the weaker the interference.
