2.Different mechanical structure
Laser engraving machines can be divided into different types of special machines according to their specific purposes. These special machines have roughly the same structure. For example, the laser source emits laser, and the numerical control system controls the stepping motor to move the focus on the X, y and Z axes of the machine tool through optical elements such as laser head, mirror and lens, so as to ablate the material for engraving.
The structure of CNC engraving machine is relatively simple. It is controlled by the computer numerical control system, so that the engraving machine automatically selects the appropriate engraving tool to engrave on the X, y and Z axes of the machine tool.
In addition, the cutting tool of laser engraving machine is a complete set of optical elements. The cutter of NC engraving machine is the engraving cutter of various entities.
3.Different machining accuracy
The diameter of the laser beam is only 0.01mm. The laser beam can make smooth and bright engraving and cutting in narrow and delicate parts. But the NC cutter can't help, because the diameter of the NC cutter is 20 times larger than the laser beam, so the machining accuracy of the NC engraving machine is not as good as that of the laser engraving machine.
4.Different treatment efficiency
The laser speed is fast. The laser speed is 2.5 times that of the NC engraving machine. Because laser engraving and polishing can be completed at one time, CNC needs to be completed in two times. Moreover, the energy consumption of laser engraving machine is less than that of NC engraving machine.
5.Other differences
1).The laser engraving machine has no noise, no pollution and high efficiency; CNC engraving machine is noisy and pollutes the environment.
2).The laser engraving machine is non-contact processing without fixing the workpiece; CNC engraving machine is contact processing, and the workpiece needs to be fixed.
3).Laser engraving machine can process soft materials, such as cloth, leather, film, etc; CNC engraving machine can't process because it can't fix the workpiece.
4).Laser engraving machine has better effect in engraving non-metallic thin materials and some materials with high melting point, but it can only be used for plane engraving. Although the shape of CNC engraving machine has certain limitations, it can make three-dimensional finished products such as relief.
